The idea behind these comics was to draw awareness towards investing in products built to last a lifetime. There is a rising crisis caused by increasing levels of wastage and lack of recyclability and reusability due to most products having built in obsolescence. Companies also refuse to use standard materials and easily fixable parts to force customers into purchasing a new product entirely instead of getting their current product fixed and extending the product lifespan.

In order to follow ethical design principles product designers have a moral responsibility to design for disassembly and employ cradle to cradle material design to the best of their capabilities to minimize resource wastage and waste generation.
